Letter from the proud owner of the War Machine,
Mike Thorne.

Winner Mike Thorn and son

Chuck, just wanted to say thanks again. The War Machine ran and rode great, a little hard on the ass but still a great ride. I wanted to tell you alittle about myself since I didn't do a very good job of it in NC, never been in the spotlight before. I'm 33, live in a small town in Barbour County called Belington. I've been working for the A & O Railroad for the last 4 years, where I am a foreman for the locomotive dept. Myself and the three guys under me take care of 8 locomotives and all the coal cars that come on the property. We do rotine maintance, quarterly inspections, traction motors, air compressors, turbos, etc.., any problems that come up, we take care of. I have always been in the mechanical field wheather working on heavy equipment, tractor trailers, classic cars, bikes, or whatever, if it had wheels and was meant to move I'm intersted in it. I've built a few bikes and redone so old cars, so I know what kind of time and hard work goes into a project like this. This was my 4th year making it to the Smoke Out and 1 year I only made it about 100 miles from the house before I had to turn back. This year I split the tranny in half on my old shovel about the same spot as the year I didnt make it. Luckly one of the guys with me brought an extra 4 speed and after a little time I was back on the road. I attached some pictures of my recent projects, a few of the ride home and some of my son, Cash, which his birthday was on the 16th. What a great b-day present for him huh! If you would will you send a thanks out to everyone that had a hand in the bike and anybody else that was involved. The War Machine is in good hands and I am proud to be a part of it all. As you can see in the picture of my old shovel Im also a supporter of our troops. I've been running that paint scheme for years. Thanks again and any time your in West "by god" Virginia look me up.

WEEK NUMBER WHAT? PHOTOS UPDATED BELOW!

Chopper Giveaway Chopper Giveaway Chopper Giveaway

Well, I'm about 95 percent finished. Maybe a day or two and I'm done! I'm very happy with the results, it came out just how I invisioned it which is always my goal, nothing less. I'm hoping we sell all 5000 tickets, sales have been a bit slow which is kind of a bummer considering all of the hard work that has been put in to it. But I do feel confident that sales will increase during the cross country trip and at the send off party in San Diego, May 2nd. For those who haven't heard, I'm having a big send off party May 2nd at Casey's Place, 7375 Jackson Drive, San Diego, CA 92119 at 3:00 pm til? We will have a bike show, bikini contest, 2 bands, including mine, a mechanical bull, vendors, food, beer, wet T-shirt contest and more. You can also check the bike out and purchase a ticket then too.

Cross Country Chopper Give Away

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CP Kustoms Cross Country Chopper Giveaway - Former WWE Super Star, Pro-Wrestler Chuck Palumbo, to ride in The Horse Smoke Out Ten and raise money for charity.

May 8 & 9 at the Verde Valley Fairgrounds, Cottonwood, AZ - Chuck Palumbo will take part in The Horse Smoke Out Ten’s Long Road, a 2,000-mile bike run from Cottonwood, AZ to Rockingham, NC as part of his fundraising efforts for our injured brave military men and women back home from Iraq. “It was shocking to see the condition of our soldiers who have suffered injuries in Iraq. We all hear about it but until you step foot in a military hospital room, it doesn't hit you.”

After visiting Walter Reed Hospital in D.C. and learning of Lt. Christopher Palumbo’s (Chuck’s younger brother) heroic efforts in Iraq, in which he was awarded the Silver Star, Chuck was inspired to do something special to thank our troops. From his CP Kustoms bike shop in San Diego, Chuck Palumbo decided to build and donate “The War Machine.” “I’m going to build a bike, ride it across country and give it away. It’s that simple!”

The chopper will be displayed at the run’s two-day launch party in Cottonwood, AZ on Friday, May 8 beginning at 4pm, and continues on Saturday, May 9 at 10am. Following the launch party Chuck will ride across country on “The War Machine” to The Horse Smoke Out Ten in Rockingham, NC. Tickets for a chance to win this handcrafted CP Kustoms original can be purchased at the launch party events and also at the posted Long Run stops across the country. One lucky ticket holder will win “The War Machine” when the raffle drawing is held at the end of the run at the Rockingham Drag strip in Rockingham, NC on Saturday, May 16. The ticket holder need not be present to win.

Anyone unable to attend the festivities of the Long Road Run or the Horse Smoke Out Ten still has a chance to win the “War Machine.” Just visit www.cpkustoms.com to purchase raffle tickets online. Monitor the progress of Chuck’s War Machine by visiting the CP Kustoms website. Donations will also be accepted online.

The purpose of this run is not only for riders to join in on the run or participate at the cross country parties, but to create awareness of the hardships of some of our biggest heroes who have returned from Iraq and to help raise much needed money for their recovery. Remember to be there on Fri, May 8 for the unveiling of Chuck’s chopper creation, the party, and great activities to follow in this two-day launch party send-off. It’s going to be a memorable event that should not be missed!

Week 1

It all started when I paid a visit to the Walter Reed Hospital in DC. It was shocking to see the condition of our soldiers who have suffered injuries in Iraq. We all hear about it but until you step foot in a military hospital room, it doesn't hit you. Even more surprising, every soldier in that hospital I spoke with said:,"I would do it again if I could". Well thats when it all hit me. I decided I was going to raise money for our troops. So here's what I came up with. I'm going to build a bike, ride it across country and give it away when I get to the other side. That simple. I will post weekly updates as I build the chop.
